As the dust starts to settle from the coronavirus pandemic and the

devastating affect its had on the UK economy comes into sharper focus,

the position of the nation’s small businesses appears to be worse than

initially projected. By mid-April, according to a report from the Facebook

& Small Business Roundtable, about a third had temporarily stopped

operating, and by mid-May more than half had laid off or furloughed

employees.

A high percentage of our clients here at Attivo operate in the hospitality

sector. We communicate with them daily regarding; the challenges they faced

and overcome since the pandemic arose, they also told us of their concerns

they may have for the future.

It is clear that many businesses in the industry are struggling. Especially as

they are now considered ‘high risk’ for any and all credit.

We see this first hand as our clients tell us the issues of getting credit for even a residential mortgageWithin our industry we are beginning to see many suppliers are point blank refusing to partner with any business in the hospitality industry whilst others are asking for huge security deposits up front which are unattainable for most given the current situation.

At Attivo we have forged great relationships with suppliers who are still taking on businesses in the hospitality industry despite the pandemic. We endeavour to support every business throughout the lockdown period and the aftermath of the pandemic, pairing each of our clients with the supplier that best meets their needs both financially and from a customer service standpoint.
